2010 Pebble Creek Golf Thursday Match Play League
Description:
A 9-hole Match Play League which will run for a total of 16
weeks beginning on May 6th. There will be 14 weeks of regular
season play and 2 weeks of playoffs. Current USGA handicaps are
required for all players and substitutes. The league is limited
to the first 16 paid teams of four players. League play will
begin following the event earlier in the day. It will be a
shot-gun start starting at 6:00pm. The league will follow our
event for the day and start time maybe delayed on days we have
larger events. The latest start time should be 6:30. The league
should be completed by Labor Day weather dependent.

Format: Team match play as described below
Each team will consist of four players, ranked 1 through 4 with
the lowest handicap being #1, 2nd lowest, #2, etc. Substitutes
will be permitted and will assume the appropriate slot base on
their handicap. Substitutes must pay a $10 entry fee the week
they sub. and must have a current USGA handicap index. If no sub
can be found, team will forfeit that match. The #1 player for
each team will serve as the team Captain. Players will play
individual match play for 9 holes. The pairings should consist
of #1 from team A against #1 from team B, #2 from team A against
#2 from team B in one foursome and players #3 and #4 in another
foursome, against the respective numbers on the other team.
Captains may agree to adjust foursomes upon mutual agreement –
i.e. players #1 and #4 from team A could play against players #1
and #4 from team B.
USGA match play rules will govern all play. Each individual
match is worth 1 point for a win, ½ point for a tie and no
points for a loss. There are 4 points available for each team
each week. If a team sweeps all of their matches, a bonus ½
point will be awarded.
Teams will be assigned to the Bridgestone or Titleist Division.
Divisions will play alternate nines each week. Regular season
play will be within your own Division, you will play only teams
in the Bridgestone or Titleist Division. The top two teams from
each division will play off for their respective Division Title.
The winners of each Division will face off to determine the
League Champion.
If there is a tie for first or second within either Division,
head to head record will be the first tie breaker. The second
tie breaker is head to head record versus the next team up or
down. For example, if two teams are tied for first place, the
first tie breaker is also tied, then each team’s record against
the team in second will be compared to determine the winner.
Similarly, if two teams are tied for second place, the first tie
breaker is also tied, then each team’s record against the FIRST
place team would be used to break the tie. This process
continues down through the rankings until a winner is
established.

Entry Fee:
Team entry fee is $100 payable to Pebble Creek Golf Club. If you
need to maintain your handicap at Pebble Creek, include an
additional $20 per player with your entry fee. You can download

Rules Questions:
Rule disputes will be settled between the respective team
captains and the pro shop. Final decision lies with the pro
shop. If you have a question as to a ruling during play, when
possible, play two balls and a decision will be made when you
return to the clubhouse.
